Final verdict, definately an exploded mouse.
For the past 2 days I have swept up or killed dozens and dozens of fat sluggish flys that have obviously gorged through their maggot stage on yummy remains. Now they're hatched and living out their few remaining minutes with cats and swiping rolled up newspapers.
