The woman hung herself, there is video of her cell proving that she did this to herself, and yet the DA is treating this like a murder and is submitting it to a grand jury.

Prove that the video is fake or get in line with the facts, admit that this was suicide. The state can not abuse people with the law just because it wants to curry favor with people who are not happy that a certain person decided to not stick around.
Our "Justice" system is deeply dysfunctional, and this state is abusive.

Once you have video proof that a person killed themselves then you have to say that it was not murder. Once you dont and continue to investigate hanging people on a murder charge then you have become abusive. This happened after you were a liar. Mom and dad not being able to get their head around the fact that their sweet baby killed herself is neither here nor there. The justice system has to be about provable facts, not coddling the grief stricken who dont want to accept what their kid did with lies.
This anti cop anti law enforcement wave crashing across the nation is very evident in this case. Here we have a woman who was abusive to a cop and thus gets herself jailed, which was totally appropriate, and then hangs herself. The cops had nothing to do with that. And while abuse of the bail system by the state is very common (I commented at length on this during the DSK case) in this instance the woman only needed to come up with $500 to get out of jail, it was not like we see so often at Rikers were bail is either denied or it is set so high that there is no way for the citizen to make it. But Bland was out of town, apparently was poor (although she did come up with the money to travel from Chicago to Texas to interview for a job) and she could not get $500 even after three days (the family says that they were working on it) .
Then she hung herself.
This is not a case of abuse at the hands of the state.
This is not about being black
this is a bit about the strains of being poor
this is a lot about not having a support network of friends and family
but most of all this is about not having the resilience to deal with ones life.
The DA however was still abusive in not taking the evidence as it came in, for trying to get the cops who were in the jail on criminal charges. Now the DA has appointed a special prosecutor to look into going after the arresting cops or the jail staff, which is ridiculous and abusive to agent of the state.
