Please add more. Let's duke it out.
Out of the groups you listed I picked Cream. Here are some more...
Rush
Primus
Gov't Mule
Robin Trower
Triumph
Nirvana
King's X
Blue Cheer
Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
I mean, add them to the list.
It's hard to beat the Experience.
Blue Cheer was on the list, but the rest are fine additions.
I am ashamed to have forgotten Rush, given that I've been in Geddy's house and snooped through his CDs.
How Can you Forget?
Not my favorite, but defined the Power Trio for most of the seventies: Grand Funk. The addition of the fourth member came only after they had been very big for years.
They certainly belong up there more than one-hit wonders, (and a cover hit, at that), Blue Cheer.
The Teaparty are pretty good.
Not as good as Cream though.
Don't forget The James Gang-Funk 49, Walk Away.
I know why I love Li'lk... always those tinytiny heavy metal references! But she's right as always, cav, you forgot Motörhead! And Rush! Both of them coming to my neighborhood in a short time! And I'm going!
