Copper ground systems (earthing) use a series of rods that are driven into the soil to act as a cathode. Chemical ground mixture is usually used where its too dry or rocky for ground rods. Chemical grounds are usually a mixture of concrete, granulated activated carbon, and Hydrated aluminum silicates (usually kaolin clay)
This stuff is put into a 2.5 to 3 ft hole maybe 12" diameter. A copper rod is installed into the mix and its allowed to set up for a week or so before hooking the earth wire to the rod.
Some folks mix the concrete mix and some dont. I dont use the stuff because we have about 45" rain a year and the soil is nice and loamy so a copper rod system works best.
