I'm from Los Angeles. I was born in '41. It never occurred to me to think of jews as outsiders. I'm from the irish part of the movie business, and that was quite a mix; though not personally working in it, I didn't notice real rancor and I used to listen up. My uncle, the guy who later became sea captain (Hawaiian Farmer), was a lawyer who worked for Selznick's lawyer at the time.. My uncle was disbarred. Or not, as I checked. He resigned.
If there was bias in my family, it was that my mother didn't like protestants, and wasn't kidding - though I took it she was kidding until I read more, years later. All long ago.
