Thanks for the help on this one.

"The institution is not investing its own money, it is managing other peoples’
money on their behalf"

Should this be

1) "The institution is not investing its own money; it is managing other peoples’
money on their behalf"

or

2)"The institution is not investing its own money: it is managing other peoples’ money on their behalf"

I have a preference for this choice:
1) "The institution is not investing its own money; it is managing other peoples’
money on their behalf."


My addition would be this: "1) "The institution is not investing its own money; however, it is managing other peoples’ money on their behalf."

The choice with the colon is not quite right.
