The last negotiations that both sides had been working on, the Taba Summit, were torpedoed by a change in Israel's government to a right-wing ministry, Ariel Sharon's, that refused to continue the negotiations and was backed by the US' newly appointed, right-wing administration, George W. Bush's,

A change in administration that was directly caused by a horrendous massacre of Israeli civilians.

Israeli voters don't like being massacred. Go figure.

Palestinians are violent because the only thing they like doing is killing children.

@oralloy,
Yeah, the resistance movement against the Zionists' oppression of the Palestinian peoples has been a bitch.

There has been no oppression of the Palestinians. Israel has offered them 1967 borders over and over and over again.

But regarding that "resistance", consider those 1967 borders to have been successfully resisted. Now the only thing the Palestinians will ever get is a series of isolated Bantustans. Poetic justice at its very best.

Israel has offered them limited sovereignty over and over again.

Your outrageous denials of Israel's past peace offers justifies the decision of the Israeli people to never again offer the Palestinians 1967 borders.

The outcome is pretty easy to foresee.

The EU will recognize the Palestinians as a sovereign state, but the US will protect Israel from ever having to give up territory outside the negotiation process.

Since there will never again be a negotiation process, that means the Palestinian state will in the end possess only what land the Palestinians already have, and not one bit more.

Enjoy the Bantustans. You earned them.

There is more oppression of Palestinians in other Arab countries than Israel.
And the areas controlled by Palestinians....

PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY

Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces use arbitrary arrest and prolonged detention as methods of quashing dissent. Lack of due process is prevalent in court proceedings. The PA executive and security services frequently ignore or fail to enforce court decisions.

PA security commonly closes down media outlets and bans publications or broadcasts whose reports paint the Palestinian Authority in an unflattering light, and periodically harasses or detains members of the media who are responsible for such reports.

Palestinian women endure various forms of social prejudice and repression within their society. Because of early marriage, girls frequently do not finish the mandatory level of schooling
. Cultural restrictions sometimes prevent women from attending colleges and universities. Women who marry outside of the Islamic faith are often disowned by their families and are sometimes harassed and threatened with death

President Stompy Feet Didn’t Want To Congratulate Netanyahu on Election – Told Secretary Kerry To Call…

We should change the name to the "Spite House" while the thin skinned assistant(Obama) to president Jarrett is in there.

After the White House and State Dept. did everything legally possible, and some things potentially illegal too, to see Benjamin Netanyahu lose election – President Obama did not want to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate him on a crushing victory.

I can't get enough of people who value freedom putting this asshole in his place.

@coldjoint,
If nothing else, no politician should ever let himself be photographed that way...

The guy looks worse than an old bum, he looks like a sad circus clown.

@gungasnake,
That's a bit surprising since he just won an election a few days ago. He must realize that his words during the campaign are about to bite him in the ass.

Alan Dershowitz:

http://unitedwithisrael.org/opinion-the-role-of-the-palestinian-authority-in-israels-election-results/

Quote:

.....Israel is a vibrant democracy, in which people vote their experience, their fear and their hope. In 2000-2001 and 2007, most Israelis had high hopes for a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian conflict. These hopes were dashed by Arafat’s rejection and Abbas’ refusal to accept generous peace offers. It is not surprising therefore, that so many Israelis now vote their fear instead of their hope.

The Obama administration also contributed to the election results in Israel by refusing to listen to Israeli concerns – concerns shared by Israelis of every political stripe – about the impending deal with Iran. Many Israelis have given up any hope of influencing the Obama administration to demand more from the Iranians. The current deal contains a sunset provision which all but guarantees that Iran will have nuclear weapons within a decade. Zionist Camp leader Isaac Herzog made a serious mistake when he said he trusted President Obama to make a good deal with the Iranians. Few Israelis share that trust, as do few members of Congress, and few Sunni Arab governments. That lack of trust was reflected in voting for a Prime Minister who has been more confrontational and less trusting.

If Israelis voted their fears, these were not entirely irrational fears; they were based on the history of the region......

Those aren't fears, they're paranoid delusions caused by their refusal to accept the reality that they can't have their cake and eat it too.
