The need to take frequent breaks to rest aching body parts.

Lessening strength and balance to use tools.

Need to avoid sun due to medications and skin cancers.

Having to hire others to do the work no longer able to do.

Need better designed hand tools to conform with elderly ergonomics.

As an elderly gardener, I can add that the pain and difficulty of bending down or bending over to plant or weed. I hire the heavier labor like mulching done, but I still love the planting and endure the difficulties.

As a retired elementary teacher I'm glad that young people want to know about gardens.
