Simple Information For Free?

Wed 31 Dec, 2014 06:38 pm
I recall in past times going on line and getting a friend's phone number, quickly and for free. Tonight, I wanted a nephew's number, but kept getting come-ons to buy his information. I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we share ways to get information without having to pay for it.

@edgarblythe,
All you want is the phone number and they want to sell you his life history.
But they include the phone number for free.

@edgarblythe,
I got into one of those sites. Sounded okay as one was having a sale for .98 or maybe 1.98. Very reasonable. Of course, they assumed I also wanted a membership at the rate of 24.98/month. I talked to them several times, making notes of date, time, and person I spoke with. Then I called the credit card company. All charges were credited the following month. The outfit called itself peoplefinder.

I can see a convenience fee, but keep it reasonable and be honest about what you are really planning to charge.

@edgarblythe,
Sometimes you can get a landline number on the white pages...no cell phone number though.

@edgarblythe,
I had a similar problem tonight trying to find a dog park friend's address. I finally got it doing a google search of their full name, city and the words real estate.

If they are a property owner, it will have everything about their property, and their name and phone number. Even has a convenient map to click on so you can get directions.

@edgarblythe,
There area couple of places to get your credit score for free now.:-). Sometimes typing an e-mail address can yield a few results for social media....but---everyone seems to want a dime these days.
