my grandfather would tell us kids that to catch a hare , one had to sprinkle some salt on the hare's tail ! so we'd walk around with a handfull of salt in our shorts trying to outsmart a hare

lol...another victim of the salt on the tail scam! My twin brother and I spent hours one weekend chasing birds with the salt shaker. We were about three years old, toddling as fast as our chubby legs would take us from one bird to another as shouts of encouragement spurred us on...

Ha. I believed them for years.

(sorry for the small digression...just a good memory, stirred by hamburger's tale).

I've always wondered why rabbit's feet are lucky...not so lucky for the rabbit, I'd think, and a waste of good meat.

The hind legs are quite good, with lots of meat. The front legs have a lot of tendon, but make great stock.

Not sure how lucky they are, but they've taken me plenty of places. For some reason all of those trips ended in a preposition! Laughing
