Does practice (repetition) really make perfect? Or are there much better approaches to achieving perfection? Or is perfection even possible?

To answer your question: yes, practice really makes perfect! Have you seen the opening and closing ceremonies when the Olympics were in China?
Thousands of participants displayed perfection that is only achieved through countless repetition and looks truly robot like.

Again: who wants to be like a robot?

Practice does not necessarily make perfect...but I doubt that is the message the adage actually is trying to convey.

Lemme see if I can say what I am saying this way:

On the golf course, a player shooting a good round often has a comment come his/her way such as, "You are one lucky golfer."

The standard retort is, "Yeah, and the more I practice, the luckier I get."

Sorta the same notion...said using different words.
