@Mark99,
Here's a method that's been around for over 5 centuries:

@Mark99,
Probably not.

How tall are your mother or father's brothers?

@Mark99,
5'7" is a fine and normal height. It makes more sense to try to change your feelings about somehow being "short" while actually being normal than to fret about ways to somehow change your genetic heritage. You might not have finished your height growth yet, but probably have.

@Mark99,
Read this article on the heights of Hollywood stars. You are likely as tall as your favorite action hero or comedian.

@Mark99,
Who told you that being tall is intrinsically better than being short? Unless they were a basketball coach they lied to you. Short men are only less attractive when they let their insecurity about being short show. Be confident and don't submit to heightism.

You already taller then Napoleon Bonaparte, [Height: 5' 6" (1.68 m)]. He managed to accomplish a hell of a lot at his height.

No one, (even a geneticist), can really answer that.

@Mark99,
So now you will look down on those shorter than you are?

My favorite all time teacher is a short man from Japan. He always has had substance. He is probably max 5-o. Used to wear great suits to teach our class, from Paris perhaps, but also taught us about bulldozers and all that. Major designer.

Get over you height idiocy.

He's 17 for crissakes.

You still could have another growth spurt.

But why are you so concerned about your height? Why do you want to be tall?

@ossobuco,
Adds, there is hardly anyone I appreciate more than that guy, for brains and wit and creativity. One of the most interesting men I've ever met.

Please do not regard height as some kind of performance criteria.

I don't care if this poster is seventeen, he's off base, time to learn.

I do. Being tall is ******* brilliant.

And people can believe you're even taller. My best friend is six foot six, but whenever we're out and sat down, I tell people I'm taller than him. At first they don't believe me but when he tells them I'm the tallest they do. They just find it hard to believe that's all. I tell them I slouch a lot.

@Mark99,
You could but it's not likely. Anyone in your family have a late growth spurt?

At 5' 7" you're a little shorter than the average American male(5' 9.5"), but you're taller than the average woman (5' 4"), which is typically a consideration for men who think they are short.

You are, by the way, the average height for a Thai man, but taller than the average man in India (5' 5"), Malaysia (5' 5.5"), Philippines (5' 3.5"), and Vietnam (5' 5").

While, as everyone has noted, success is dependent on a lot more factors than height, to the extent that "height prejudice" does enter the picture, unless you want to be a basketball player or a circus giant, at 5' 7" you should be fine.

Just try not to run for president against anyone taller than you. In 22 out of 25 presidential elections in the 20th century, the taller candidate has won.

Women tend to prefer shorter men visiting their bathroom as they tend to make less mess.

Nearer the target, apparently.
