A fence panel has an area of 24 ft.^2 and perimeter of 20 ft.^2. Calculate dimensions of the panel.

What is known:

A fence panel's area (24 ft.^2) and perimeter (20 ft.^2).

Area = Length x Width

Perimeter = 2L + 2W

Want to know:

Dimensions of panel.

How do I proceed from here?

@Randy Dandy,
Assuming a perimeter of 20 ft, not 20 square feet
Good grief, this is intuitive! 6 ft by 4 ft.

Well, OK

L*W = 24
2L+2W =20
L+W=10
L= 10-W

W(10-W)=24
10W -W^2=24
-W^2 +10W -24=0
W^2 -10W +24=0
(W-4)(W-6) =0
W=4, W=6

@neologist,
I meant perimeter = 20 ft.

I did not realize it was so simple. Thanks.
