I've an old purple Saint Laurent coat, way out of style but rather beautiful. I paid something like twenty dollars for it at a Salv Army shop. It has big shoulder pads, which meant that I couldn't get the woman at the consignment shop interested in adding it to their stuff. Sadly, I've failed to photograph it, so can't show it here. (There's a jacket of the similar vintage online for 768.00. I suppose I could get into online selling but that's problematic for me.)

I really like purple flowers.

I keep trying to grow lupines but they don't like the sandy soil here.

One of the best parts of travelling to Maine is the lupines.

I've always loved lupines; well, that is since I learned about california's wildflowers.

Oh, and on that purple cow recipe, that wasn't mine, for sure..
but it caused me to remember that my mother would mix grape juice and ginger ale for me, long long ago.
