I am debating on going to college to become a CRNA or a Family Practioner but leaning towards a CRNA.
First Question - Does a CRNA really make more than a Family Practioner??
Other Questions about becoming a CRNA because thats what i am leaning towards.
1. Are the steps i have to becoming a CRNA correct or am i missing anything?
- Become a RN
- Get a BSN
- complete at least 1 year of acute care experience
- complete an accredited graduate program in nurse anethesia - masters degree
- Take the national certification examination for CRNA's
2. A BSN is needed but do i need to become a RN before getting my BSN? or can i go for my BSN and then just take the RN test? Please provide details.
3. A BSN is about 4 years correct? and a MSN is about 6 years? if i wanted to just go straight for the MSN will i still be able to become a CRNA or do i specifically need a BSN. (Someone said they think that if you go for you MSN you get your BSN in the process) is this true?
4. How many years total does it take to become a CRNA with a BSN and/or a MSN??
Thank you in advance
