If you graph 2^x and 4x, you'll see that they intersect in two places (x=4 and somewhere in the vicinity of x=0.3)

well! You can solve this question as
2^x - 4x =0
2x(x - 4)=0
2x=0 , x - 4 = 0
x = 0 and x = 4
So, the answer 0, 4. Both not 4

You are confusing 2^x with x^2.
