Hello everyone,
I am coming to New York at last! It would be lovely if I could meet up with some of you. I've already spoken to Thomas, hurrah, and we'd love to have some company!
I am going to be on the 2014 Director's Lab at the Lincoln centre from 7th - 27th July, which will be pretty hardcore apparently (10 am - 10 pm each day with only 2 days off), but I am going to stay for a few days (up to a week) before and a few days/week afterwards (as long as I can reasonably afford), then I'm going to be coming back to Europe to spend the rest of summer in Germany (if anyone lives in Weimar then let me know!).
I have decided I think I want to come from the airport and spend the first night in a hostel in Manhattan by myself because I want the adrenalin buzz (sorry -- I'm weird like that), but after that I shall be doing as much meeting and exploring as possible and would love to see anyone who is around.
Will post exact dates as soon as I book my flights.

Hey, PQ. I would love the chance to meet with you...and Thomas. Haven't seen him in a while...and I am sure he is missing me as much as I am missing him. (We've had a few minor to-dos lately, but after one beer, he's as mellow as meadow lark. I am always mellow.) I'm sure Joe Nation...and Tsar will want to be included. Maybe I can even get Kickycan to make an appearance.

Ha, I missed this one.
Right so I have some dates. I fly in and will be pretty busy with stuff at the lab until the 26th July, and then I have a week free and fly home on the 2nd August. So maybe we could all arrange to meet in that week?

Any NYC folk reading this thread have opinions on some places to find the best real bagels?
(I'm planning on making my own once I find the right kind of barley malt stuff - I forget, diastatic or is it non-diastatic?), probably at a health food emporium.

You should. On arriving in New York, you will get homesick for bangers and mash within days, if not hours. What better way to welcome you back to London?
