Abhi, the electron is much, much smaller and of course is of opposite charge.

A neutron is about one electron heavier than a proton, but the suggestion that the a proton is simply a neutron lacking an electron is 'way too easy, as size comparison too. Try Googling

Eleectrons are positively charged and are located on the energy levels while protons are positively charged and are located within the nucleous
