Doglove, hah, hah, hah!

George--RIP.

Like most others, I have eclectic tastes in music, from jazz, rock, some metal, 'classical' (BTW-if you like Bach, you like religious music), some folk and some country.

Traditional jazz has taken on the term "classical." When Winton Marsalis did the Jazz at Carnegie Hall program, he referred to older jazz as classical. To me this makes perfect sense, as jazz originated in the States and has become classical in it's own right.

ah, I just thought of the monk. Where did he go, anyway?

Ain't nobody ever said they loved Clifford Brown. Should they do so, I will personally publish my own research results.

You know what's weird!

This works!

I do listen to classical and folk on occasion and am Intelligent, [reasonably] tolerant, and to most would be liberal.

I also do some "light alternative" and am active(Pilates, Cycling and Aikido), and a bit of a risk taker.

Of course, I'm also only 29!

Celtic, bluegrass, swing, singer-song writers, ambient, anything african, and good old rock'n'roll are just a few other types of music I can add to the list. I love it all. Perhaps I'm unbalanced - but I wouldn't have me any other way.

Tuvan Throat music rocks!

doglover, remind me to send you the lyrics to a love song I wrote about a girl I met when we were playing The Sandbar in Baltimore back in the day. We had an adventure at the Glen Burnie Holiday Inn. It was true love I tell you.

Not sure which monk you were referring to Letty, but Thelonious died in 1982. Laughing

Cav, Monk was the handle of a man who posted on A2K for a while, then disappeared. He sent me a PM thanking me for the welcome. He knew all the great jazz artists.

Ooh, I think I remember him....he had a cool avatar. BPB, that song wouldn't bear (no pun intended) any resemblance to Captain Beefheart's 'Lick My Decals Off Baby' now would it?

I like:
Country
Some folk
Some older metal
Plenty of classic rock

So where does that put me?

YOU WON'T SEE ME AGAIN

dedicated to the memory of an old professional campaigner I left The Sandbar with one night who turned out to be a student at Annapolis Junior High School...if she had said she was 25 I wouldn't have batted an eye....

I see you standing over by the bar...throwing those looks my way hey what you trying to say
Don't be so coy I'm not a little boy..I know just what you want...but let me tell you upfront...
I call the plays, you just do what I say..if you want to play ball with me...
Cause if I miss your boat I've got five more coming in
I'm in the band you're just a one night stand and baby I like it that way....
and chances are better than good you won't see me again...No you won't see me again.....

Verse 2

You look so tacky you're in such bad taste...you're just the kind of woman I want to eat my tensions away....
I'll let you take me home and you can jump my bones...
But don't try to make it out to be more than it is....
'Cause I've got friends like you in every major city...from New York to Tampa Bay...
Most times I've finished and gone without catching your name....
I'm in a band you're just a one night stand...
And baby I like it that way....chances are better than good you won't see me again......No, you won't see me again

You won't see me again...don't want your name...don't want your number
don't want to know anything about you...
Just take me home...get me off, and leave me alone....

(Spoken)
that's right honey do want you came to do....
tie me to the bed and treat me like the dog I am.....
when you're finished get me a warm towel and a cold beer would ya?
I'm a little hot, sticky and thirsty....and oh yeah, don't talk so much okay?

You won't see me again.......

Hope you like it doglover...it's a love song Cirkus style....because love isn't always pretty...it's not supposed to be Twisted Evil

No, Bi. It's not supposed to be....

I fit everywhere, I guess, even in the lovely ballads of what might have been:

All about Ronnie,
There's so much to tell.
All about Ronnie,
I know him so well.

His magical fingers,
That thrill to embrace,
His whispers that linger,
Caressing your face.

All about Ronnie,
Best told in a toast.
Let me propose it,
He's my favorite host.

We'll drink from dry glasses,
There's no need for wine,
The champagne is Ronnie.

And Ronnie is mine.

First song that I ever sang on television.

I love it BPB. The lyrics tell the story of raw, anonymous sex.

Brings back fond memories of my single days and nights like that.

Thanks.

Could this love song be written for gus?

Old Fart At Play

Pappy with the Khaki sweatband
Bowed goat potbellied barnyard that only he noticed
The old fart was smart
The old gold cloth madonna
Dancin' t' the fiddle 'n saw
He ran down behind the knoll
'n slipped on his wooden fishhead
The mouth worked 'n snapped all the bees
Back t' the bungalow

Momma was flatten'n lard
With her red enamel rollin' pin
When the fishhead broke the window
Rubber eye erect 'n precisely detailed
Airholes from which breath should come
Is now closely fit
With the chatter of the old fart inside

An assortment of observations took place
Momma licked 'er lips like uh cat
Pecked the ground like uh rooster
Pivoted like uh duck
Her stockings down caught dust 'n doughballs
She cracked 'er mouth glaze caught one eyelash
Rubbed 'er hands on 'er gorgeous gingham
Her hand grasped sticky metal intricate latchwork
Open t' the room uh smell cold mixed with bologna
Rubber bands crumpled wax paper bonnets
Fat goose legs 'n special jellies
Ignited by the warmth of the room
The old fart smelled this thru his important breather holes
Cleverly he dialed from within from the outside we observed
That the nose of the wooden mask
Where the holes had just been uh moment ago
Was now smooth amazingly blended camouflaged in
With the very intricate rainbow trout replica

The old fart inside was now breathin' freely
From his perfume bottle atomizer air bulb invention

Dialogue:
Don Van Vliet: "His excited eyes from within the dark interior glazed; watered in appreciation of his thoughtful preparation"
Man: "Oh man, that's so heavy"

Right, Suzy. Only time I ever got truly shaken. Live stuff is tuff. Smile

All About Ronnie was a difficult song to sing because of the intervals. Intonation was very important to me at the time, and still is. When you're looking in that camera, and realize that there are no retakes, it does tend to make one a bit weak in the knees.

Nothing too exciting, eoe. Just telerama type stuff on a local TV station, and it was too many years ago to remember. Still remember every word to that song, however. Go figure.
