Former Bengals cheerleader wins lawsuit against website for ‘reputation-ruining’ story

Could this be the end of internet anonymity? It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

The site was sued, not the anonymous members who made the comments. Furthermore, the article you linked suggests that even allowing the suit to go to trial was grounds for dismissal on appeal. Looks like tempest in a teapot stuff to me.

And its at the stage of a lower Federal court rather then the actual US Supreme Court which I doubt this particular case will ever get to.
