Winton Marcellas made this observation in a recent interview, and it made me look at rap "music" in a new light. Marcellas is a cool jazz artist and plays laid back trumpet.
What do you think, music lovers?
I think we can do without the modern day rap. Especially the kind that doesn't have a consistent beat or the kind that is played very slow and distorted.
Hey, L.R.R. I'm not a rap fan, but I was intrigued with Marcellas' characterization of it. Do you see the analogy between rap and the minstrel?
i've always held that belief, i remember making that argument about five years ago to a musician friend of mine who saw no value what so ever in rap,
i guess i was ahead of my time
djjd, yes, a legend in your time.
well, in my own mind anyway
Neat picture in the gallery, dj, and I just thought of a nick name for 'ya. How about D-jay?
