Indonesian ulema again demand Catholic schools teach Islam

Tue 12 Nov, 2013 02:27 pm
This is a moderate Muslim country?

Can you see that Islam cannot exist with another religion, let alone culture?

Quote:
In Klanten, Central Java, the MUI reignites the controversy over the fact that Islam is not taught in Catholic schools, a serious violation for the local head of the Islamist organisation. Last year, the same dispute broke out in Blitar and Tegal, subsiding eventually after Muslim parents defended the schools their children attended because of the quality of their teaching.

@coldjoint,
How is this different then Christian Tea Party types insisting that "under God" be kept in the Plege of Allegience recited by American school kids every morning?

Has nothing to do with the Tea Party. It has to do with Islam, and who have the Ten Commandments killed?

@maxdancona,
What religion looks at marriage other than between a man and a women?

@coldjoint,
The point is the hypocrisy.

The Tea Party is always jamming their religion down other people's throats. Yet when this Indonesian religious group wants to do the same, you get all bent out of shape.

The Ulema isn't doing anything in Indonesia that the Tea Party doesn't do here.

(For the record, I oppose religious intrusion in each case.)

Has one ever physically or legally forced you to do anything? It is not the same.

You might oppose religion but in an Islamic country you can't. Are you getting it yet?

And you did not answer my question about marriage.

Of course they have.

Who I am allowed marry was dictated by the Religious Right until very recently. There is a move by the Tea Party to enact laws that legally force Vaginal Probes on women when neither they nor their doctors want them.

I already mentioned Judge Roy Moore, who forced his religion on people standing before his court in defiance of the law.

The Tea Party is deeply hypocritical.

@coldjoint,
Your question about marriage is irrelevant. I don't want religious fundamentalists to push their views of marriage (or any other personal topic) on me.

The Tea Party is the guilty party in the US. The hypocrisy is that they attack other religions for doing the same thing they are doing.

The Tea Party has killed no one. It is not a religion. You apparently unaware of what the Tea Party is and what it stands for.

Now back to Islam. Islam will and is obligated to push Islam on everyone. And their holy literature sanctions anything that will attain that goal.

@coldjoint,
I am very aware of what the Tea Party stands for. They are actively pushing Christianity on everyone.

Which is a big part of the reason that they start so many threads attacking other religions.

Yes they have.

In the years after his presidency, attempts to try him on charges of corruption and genocide failed because of his poor health and because of lack of support within Indonesia.

Indonesian Ulema Council (Indonesian: Majelis Ulama Indonesia - MUI) is Indonesia's top Muslim clerical body. The council comprises all Indonesian Muslim groups including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, and the more subtle name like Persis, Al Irsyad, Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI), Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Forum Ulama Umat Islam (FUUI) and the Islamic Defender Front (FPI). The Ahlul Bait Indonesia (Shiite) and Jemaat Ahmadiyyah Indonesia (Ahmadiyya) could not be accepted as its member. It was founded by the Indonesian New Order under the Suharto administration in 1975 as a body to produce fatwā and to advise the Muslim community on contemporary issues.

The Tea in tea party stands for "taxed enough already". Your Christian agenda is ridiculous.

What is your problem with it should be the question. Don't you think all views should be taught? Are you bigoted against Christians? Is this hate?
