For the fullness of my life, since age O, I 've been curious, deeply interested,
in how people THINK; especially those who disagree with me.
As I look at the TV program grid to choose the nite 's entertainment,
I see much boasting of fear, need for personal vengeance, and of horror.
The broadcasters BRAG of this. That 's what thay offer us.
Candor moves me to declare that I love and enjoy BEAUTY
and seeing my fellow citizens in the thrills of maximum JOY,
not in dismay from the results and the suspense of criminal violence
inflicted upon victims who were NOT sufficiently well armed
to prevail in their own defense.
I ask myself and I ask YOU, my fellow members of A2K:
Y are we offered so much contemplation of horror instead
being shown BEAUTY and joy????? I 'd rather see that.
Is it that joy in our fellow American citizens is boring??
I 'd rather see Americans in the throes of ecstacy and super-intense JOY
rather than in depression or in fear.
WHATAYATHINK ???
Do u wanna see your fellow citizens in dismay, or in JOY???
Please advise.
David
@OmSigDAVID,
Television is what you make of it. There are plenty of happy programs for your viewing pleasure and if there seemeth to be a lack of enough then read a book or listen to some music or just juxtapose your thoughts into a different orbit.
@wmwcjr,
Fortunately, the skeletons ate all of the bed bugs, Bill.

Sesame Street has always been like that.
On a serious note David, conflict has always been more interesting than peace and harmony. The Chinese curse about living in interesting times bears this out.
How many long running shows turn to mush the minute the two leading protagonists finally get into bed together?
@OmSigDAVID,
Good response!
Glad you weren't offended by my good-natured ribbing. Such films
are entertaining, but that's just me.
