The Irish Flag.
The Green for the Gaelic tradition, the Orange for the followers of William of Orange and the White representing the aspiration for peace between them.

My arse. I liked the Irish a lot more before I started using Ryanair. Those awful Dublin-accented cabin announcements... The stupid ads... the "another on-time arrival" announcement when you're actually 25 minutes late... bunch of fecking pricks.

@contrex,

But here you are.

Must be your cousin.

For a horse, aka "Saxon Steed" (also called Westfalenross, meaning "Westphalian steed", or Welfenross, meaning "Welf steed").

For a horse you say. Smile

I see the Saxon Steed (Sachsenross) appears on a number of flags. I believe it arrived in you're part of the world in 1714 when House of Hanover was joined in personal union with the United Kingdom.

At least, that's what the computer's telling me. It's good to live and learn.

It arrived in my part of the world at about ... 1200. (Hengist andd Horsa came from here, btw.)

This is the the coat of arms ...

... in the local museum (which was originally the house of an Electorate- Cologne judge) in my native town, showing the coat of arms of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne Hermann of Wied (1515 to 1546).
(The dukedom of Westphalia was part of the Electorate of Cologne since 1180)
