I love Billie Holiday's records. Thank you.
Actually Pueo, it pains me to admit this cause everyone was nuts about her. But towards the end of her career she put out some real garbage. There was a time when I really appreciated her voice and timing but then I bought "Lady In Satin". And I tried , I really tried to love Billie, but I couldn't. That's a sad album. You can hear the toll the drugs had taken on her spirit. She wasn't there anymore. I'd rather listen to Blossom Dearie on a bad day. But that's just me. And I will think of her today, and what might have been.
When she was in her prime, she was so cool. Such a unique voice. I believe she and Patsy Cline had the most beautifully haunting and distinct voices I've ever heard. Even an aging metal head can appreciate them.
Amen Sparky, Patsy had it too
