Recent surveys in arabia show that atheism doesn't exist in that country . Even in a secure anonymous survey site no one responded yes. . in Egypt ,less than 1% said they were agnostic or unsure.
I think atheism is basically an attempt to justify immoral sexual behavior.
In france the number jumps to about 40% who claim to be agnostic or atheist. Here ,immorality is the main underlying reason.
In England it's about 44% . in this country it's the incredible super ego of the brits that refuses to acknowledge a superior being . and so on. Atheism is the lazy man's way out of having to think.

@count markovalley,
Funny Count.

In Amerika Christianity is the lazy mans way out. To be an atheist you have to consider the tenants of the Xtian religion and make the difficult realization that the dogma of the skyfairy and his favorite boy are basically a rationalization of an insecure morality.

@raprap,
but you don't state what you find that's insecure. you still are free to take it wherever you like it. [if that's how you like it]

Without the Christian Faith, all that is pure and sacred would disappear off the earth. Without Christianity mankind would slowly descend into a state of barbarism and eventually all civilization would cease. Everything that man has created would be destroyed and human life itself would take on the form of bestial vegetation.
At some point the earth would orbit the sun devoid of meaning ,as it did millions of years ago.

The concept of vegetation being "bestial" is one of your cuter idiocies. The human race has been around for tens of thousands of years. They progressed from hunting and gathering to agriculture, cities and monumental architecture. They accomplished all of that without christianity. You have no case . . . as usual.

@count markovalley,
Without Xtianity much of the racial and cultural genocide and persecution would not have been rationalized in his holy name.

BTW the golden rule isn't unique to Xtianity. All of the world's religions and intellectual atheism also contain the same sentiment. Too bad few professed Xtians actually practice this rule.

@raprap,
I could be wrong ,but I see you've chosen to write in talmudic cursive. .. In fact I believe you are a subtle talmudist acting as an agent provocateur.

You are our misfortune!

The greatness of the Christian Faith was not in its willingness to negotiate or to compromise with any similar philosophy or opinions in the ancient world.; but is clearly seen in its unbending struggle to fight fanatically for its own doctrines..
all great ideas political or religious are founded on fanaticism and intolerance.and its ability to impose its will on all others.
if a religion in itself, is sound and takes up its struggle it usually becomes unconquerable ;and any and all persecutions will only add to its strengths and make it even firmer and harder to destroy.
