I'll never forget the first time I put The Doors album on the turntable and the first notes of Break On Through rang out.
A kick ass band, but....there was no bass player!
Manzarek was doing it all....keyboards and bass.
What a talent....what a loss.

@panzade,
I'll never forget the day I chickened out from taking Jim Morrison and his woman's blood for a premarital test - I'd never done that before or since, chickening out, and I had been exposed, as it were, to celebrities from my first med job at sixteen and that was now long later. I chickened out because I could, Muriel would do it, and did.

Muriel was a tall sort of redhead with presence, done quickly.

Aside from that particular about my failure, I liked the Doors.
