What was wrong with the EU’s proposed bailout of Cyprus’ banks from an economic point of view.

By no means am I an economic expert but ... the size of the bailout ($2.6bn USD) and the entrenched problems in the bailout (and their economic forecast) make it highly unlikely that Cyprus is a good risk to
ever pay the loan back.
