Dearest English teachers,
I am confused on request. Please clear my confusion by advising my sentence below. Many thanks in advance.
My modem was spoiled, I phoned the service center and requested/requested for verification.

@Loh Jane,
My modem was broken, not working, fried, crapped out. It was not spoiled. Milk spoils. Meat spoils. But inanimate objects break, rust away or quit.
I phoned the service center and requested verification.

@Ceili,
Truly speaking, English is very much more complex than Chinese. For example I applied for a job and request a modem verification last week.

I bet you wouldn't think Chinese were that simple if it weren't your native language.

@Loh Jane,
I'm with Roger on this one. Yes, English is quite difficult to master, but you're doing fine. I can only speak a few words of Cantonese. And reading it... um, no. It's beautiful to look at though. Smile

I applied for a job and requested a modem verification last week.
