A man told me he had lost his wallet and I said I didn't see such a thing; then can I say this?
I'll be more aware of this.
which means I will pay extra attention when I am walking around to see whether I can find his wallet.
A native speaker would say...
"I'll keep an eye out for it", or "I'll keep my eyes peeled".
