IMO, the best songs ever are Hey Ya by outkast, I Miss You by blink 182, and All the Small Things by blink 182. Oh, and the best old one is Dude (looks like a lady) by Aerosmith. And Fat Lip by sum 41 is good too.

He aint heavy, he's my brother.
And for rock? Audioslave's "Do you call my name" (my current fave)!
The Standelles "Dirty Water"
Dropkick Murphys "The ones that you love"

I'm going to see Aerosmith in June! it's been about 20 years! The last time I saw them, they had all just quit drinkin & drugs, and the music just wasn't the same!
There's really too many good songs to pick just one, or a few. I could go on and on! Very Happy

I like the song "Winter in America" very much (by Gil Scot-Heron) but I don't know many of the lyrics, so not sure if it's appropriate for a funeral.

Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang - Ted Nugent

That Nadine, what a teenage queen.
She lookin' so clean, especi'lly down in between; what I like.

She come to town; she be foolin' around,
a puttin' me down as a rock-and-roll clown. It's all right.

Wang Dang Sweet Poontang

Wang dang, what a sweet poontang,
a shakin' my thang as a rang-a-dang-dang in the bell.

She's so sweet when she yanks on my meat.
Down on the street you know she can't be beat. What the hell.

That Ted--what a poet!

My vote is for "Happy Jack" by the Who. It's being played to death on a Hummer ad, but hearing it reminds me how great a song it is. Featuring crazy drumming by the late, great Keith Moon.

The Outsider by A Perfect Circle.

Its four minutes of complete ass-kicking. It doesnt even have much in the way of a chorus or a tune in general but it doesnt need to. Kick ass songs are like that. None of this "melody" stuff needed.
