is age an issue?

OK so I met this guy through work about a week ago. I can tell he likes me. He's flirts every time we talk, touches me (my hand I.E.), stands close, etc. Even asked in a non direct way if I have a boyfriend. Well we were talking today and he seemed a little shocked (?), maybe even...wierded out by my age. I'm 27 and hes about 18 years older than I am. i like him but don't know if I should pursue it or just walk away. Is the age difference a big deal?

@blondcountrygirl,
It may not be too much of an issue. He certainly cannot say that he had no clue at all that you were younger than him.

But recognize that 45-year-old guys without girlfriends might instead have boyfriends, wives, kids, closeting issues, alimony payments, etc. Not to turn you off everyone who's older, but most people form some sort of bond by the time they have been on this planet over 4 decades, and when they don't have such a bond it can mean that they are dealing with the fallout from a former bond.

@blondcountrygirl,
I'm 19 years older than my wife (actually my partner since we've never had a ceremony)...and we have had a wonderful relationship for 35 years.

If it feels right...go for it. The age difference is not a big deal.

@blondcountrygirl,
If you two are feeling comfortable when you are together I don'e see a reason not to try. You only can win in this situation!

I would not let age be a factor at 27. But be sure that you check out his "baggage" i.e. past.

Why is he interested in a 27 year old?
