producing an adult movie

I know absolutely nothing about the business of porn, but I have recently met a woman who directs adult movies. She has distributors and all the necessary connections. I don't know her very well, but I am thinking of asking her about producing a movie. I just want to be on the financial end of it. My idea is to put up the money for one movie to see if I make anything off it, and to learn a little bit.

How does this stuff work? I don't have any idea how much it would cost to make a movie, and I don't know how this works legally either. Does anyone have any idea how to negotiate terms? How much return on my investment should I expect to make? How long would it take to make my money back? I would need a lawyer, wouldn't I? Any information would be appreciated.

In and out, repeat.

It can vary a lot. You can get a scene done for a few grand.

Consult a lawyer. Ashcroft is pretty hard on porn peddlers. You'll need to check districting laws etc as the location choice must comply with laws.

Of course you need lots of documentation from the participants. If you get fake ID from a model you can go to jail.

With who? The actors and acresses? There are modeling agencies with fixed prices for these things.

None. I do not think you will make any real profit so you'd better be in this just for the idea of making a porno.

If you want to treat this as an investment line up your distribution first.

Well, this woman I met actually has all the actors, the distribution, all that stuff. I was thinking of just offering her a deal, like I'd invest $10,000 and she'd give me a return on my investment of 10% in one year. Something more like a venture capital thing.

Maybe I should just try to find a straight on-the-up-and-up venture capital deal. This porno stuff sounds too shaky.

Indeed. If you want to invest there are safer ways to go about it. If you don't mind the risk and really wanna be a pornographer then go for it.

If you can spare the cash kicky, I say GO for it. It'll be an experience, if nothing else, and you'll have wild stories for your grandkids.

I'm not really into the porn idea. I just had this naive idea that any business involving sex is a no-lose proposition. I want to make money.
