CANADA'S LATEST WOMAN PREMIER

The Liberal Party in Ontario has chosen Kathleen Wynne to be their leader, and, as Dalton McGuinty resigned, she is automatically the Premier of Ontario. That makes six provincial premiers, and with women leading the governments of Ontario and Quebec, that means that 80% of Canada's population live under provincial governments lead by women.

Kathleen Wynne is interesting for another reason, too. She is what you call your "openly gay woman." I heard a comment from her on the radio a few minutes ago in which she said that she had been fold that North Toronto was not ready for an openly gay MPP--ironic, no?
