@RexRed,
I believe it to be something like the period between 781 to 1050? The photo I posted didn't have much information attached, except that it was Cham Towers, Vietnam - here's a link I found that seems to fit in with that.

Uppsala Cathedral (Swedish: Uppsala domkyrka) is located centrally in the city of Uppsala, Sweden. It dates back to the late 13th century and at a height of 118.7 m is the tallest church building in Scandinavia. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Uppsala, the primate of Sweden.
A number of Swedish kings and notable people were buried inside the cathedral:

" flak tower " in Vienna - Austria

Quote:
Flak towers (German: Flaktürme) were 8 complexes of large, above-ground, anti-aircraft gun blockhouse towers constructed in the cities of Berlin (3), Hamburg (2), and Vienna (3) from 1940 onwards. Other cities that used flak towers included Stuttgart and Frankfurt (Main).

They were used by the Luftwaffe to defend against Allied air raids on these cities during World War II. They also served as air-raid shelters for tens of thousands of people and to coordinate air defence.

@hamburgboy,
I like the balance of that one in a few ways, including that it is both sturdy and graceful.

the " Holstentor " - one of the gates of the medieval hanseatic city of Luebeck

in Northern-Germany - located near the Baltic Sea .

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ed/L%C3%BCbeck_Holstentor.jpg/800px-L%C3%BCbeck_Holstentor.jpg

Quote:
The Holsten Gate ("Holstein Tor", later "Holstentor") is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. This Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck’s medieval city fortifications and the only remaining city gate, except for the Citadel Gate ("Burgtor"). Because its two round towers and arched entrance are so well known it is regarded today as a symbol of this German city, and together with the old city centre (Altstadt) of Lübeck it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Fascinating building - 17 spires, wow! I like the idea that it houses different worship areas under a single roof - Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist and Islamic.

@ossobuco,
Wonder if the red car is there artistically or it just happened to park there.
Colourwise it fits the red house perfect.

@saab,
You're right!
I really like the whole photo a lot.

The one of the New York that Rex Red posted is sort of scary for me to look at - I've a little acrophobia.
