On the island Öland the royal family has a summer recidence without any ziggurats, towers or spires.
So here are some windmills instead.

St. Catherine's Church - Hamburg - Germany

     http://files2.structurae.de/files/photos/2776/hamburg/d_hh_katharinenkirche.jpg

Quote:
St. Catherine's Church (German: St. Katharinen) is one of the five principal Lutheran churches (Hauptkirchen) of Hamburg, Germany. The base of its spire, dating from the 13th century, is the second oldest building preserved in the city, after the lighthouse on Neuwerk island. It is situated on an island near what was formerly the southern boundary of the medieval city, opposite the historic harbour area on the Elbe river. It traditionally served as the church of the seamen.

the German Church in Stockholm
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3482/3211096243_84bb48d81b_z.jpg

Tyska kyrkan ("German Church"; German: Deutsche Kirche), sometimes called St. Gertrude's Church (Swedish: Sankta Gertruds kyrka), is a church in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden.
The German guild of St. Gertrude was founded on the location for the present church in the 14th century.

In 1571, King John III authorized the German expatriates in the city to form a separate parish, including summoning priests from Germany, and it thus became the first German ecclesiastical parish outside Germany,

Stora Sundby, Södermanland Sweden
The way this castle looks today is thanks toWalter Scott´s architect.
Carl de Geer bought the castle for his wife, but she tought is was too simple.
She liked Walter Scotts´s novels about knights´castles so her husbound got Scott´s architect redesign Stora Sundby. It is still a privat home.
It has 4 large towers representing the seasons
12 small towers to represent the months
52 rooms to represent to weeks in in a year
365 windows representing the days.

the largest church in the world

Quote:
The Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro (French: Basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix de Yamoussoukro) is a Roman Catholic minor basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Peace in Yamoussoukro, the administrative capital of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). The basilica was constructed between 1985 and 1989 at a cost of $300 million. The design of the dome and encircled plaza are clearly inspired by[2] those of the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican City, although it is not an outright replica.[3] The cornerstone was laid on August 10 1985, and it was consecrated on September 10 1990 by Pope John Paul II.[4]

The basilica is not a cathedral. The nearby Cathedral of Saint Augustine[5] is the principal place of worship and seat of the bishop of the Diocese of Yamoussoukro.

Guinness World Records lists it as the largest church in the world, having surpassed the previous record holder, St. Peter's Basilica, upon completion. It has an area of 30,000 sq metres (322,917 sq ft) and is 158 m (518 ft) high.[6] However, it also includes a rectory and a villa (counted in the overall area), which are not strictly part of the church. It can accommodate 18,000 worshippers, compared to 60,000 for St. Peter's.[7]

The Basilica is administered by Polish Pallottines.
