I use
Firefox, he is the best browser!
Oh, I dunno. "Alternate Browsers" are fine for some folks ... even fun. Other folks have no business messing with anything that requires any user input at all to acquire, configure and implement. I gotta say I think it all comes down to what works for you ... and how much work you're willing to put into it. Personally, I'm not all that fond of Mozilla or Gecko browsers. They've got their points, yeah, and their drawbacks. I do like Opera for some stuff ... rapid browsing through a research chain is a snap with it, but then, there are the websites it just won't render properly, or even open at all. My main browser is IE6-whatever-it-is-this-week, particularly when used in Win XP. Mrs Timber likes the MSN9 browser. To me, its sorta restrictive, or limited, and I just don't like it. So ... what''s best ... chocolate or vanilla, apples or oranges, boots or shoes. kit-built or store-bought? All depends on personal preference, I figure.
Apple Safari is way cool
It has tabbed browsing, blocks pop-ups and it blisteringly fast even on dial-up. Only problem is its only available on Mac OSX.
Safari on Mac OS X, Firefox on Windows.
IE on Windows, Firefox on Linux.
I loaded Firefox about a week ago - it FRICK'n screams in a speed way!!!
Also loaded Thunderbird - email - looks ok - but just testing.
