Please can anybody say if any company manufactures a rucksack type sack that fits over the chest, rather than the back? I know some ladies carry their babies in a chest harness, so why not a "frontal rucksack"? It would make life a lot easier when travelling on buses! Thanks for your help.
@Germanicus,
There are tons of cross-body bags out there that can be worn to the front or the back.
@Germanicus,
Itd seem to limit your movement on hikes.
@farmerman,
I just googled it - they're called chestpacks/chest packs.
Apparently pretty common in the world of fly fishing.
some of them look positively enormous
here is a chestpack for your telephoto
@farmerman,
It sure would, especially in mountainous terrain.
@ehBeth,
Ive never seen this kinda rig in all my years of fishing. (I only do a bit of fly fishing but Id still think its limiting to your movement)
Maybe walking in a city . (STill, I think it looks kinda dum)
@farmerman,
It would be great for sitting on a bus, I suppose. I doubt I will be seen backpacking much in the city, though it seems to be a current style.
@farmerman,
I don't design 'em, I just google them.
Really amazing how many variations there are of those things. I've seen people with two knapsacks on for travelling - one facing forward, one facing back - but never anything quite like the chestpacks.
@ehBeth,
Due to some "experiences" I've made in New York a couple of years ago
, I'd bought this model afterwards ...
(They 12.6 kg of my equipment in it ALWAYS miraculously aren't more than 8 or even 6 kilos in planes
)
