What kind of mold likely growing on my glue stick...

Greetings!
I pulled out a long dejected Extra Strength Elmer's glue stick today to find an interesting black circular mold colony penetrating deep into the glue column. I do have a photo and will try to add it. Searching the Internet gives me people asking if it CAN mold. I can't culture it, and probably couldn't ID it if I could. Will we be able to narrow it down or ID from sight?

Im thinkling that its a form of Stachybottrys (My spelling skill is negatively modified by my age)
