I got laid off and I have some educational benefits from the military that I can use and I am having a hard time finding a program. I really want something that can virtually gaurentee me a job.

I have thought about RN or Electrician....I don't know if I can wait around to get in to Nursing school....Both the schools in my area have a waiting list...

Please feel free to suggest something else

Thank you

@chaelsonnenfan,
Have you taken an aptitude test? Are these two choices your interests?

You will need a BA degree, so get started on those first two "core" years NOW. By the time you need to declare a major, you may change your mind.

Don't waste those wonderful military benefits.

@PUNKEY,
No applitude test, but I have a bachelors degree in finance. I'm 39. I work for the railroad as a conductor and I am laid off. I have applied for many jobs and have yet to have any results. My thoughts are either learn a valuable skill (specialize) or take advantage of the demand of nursing.

I just want to be marketable and skilled to the point that I can maintain employment for my family.

@chaelsonnenfan,
What about the railroad industry? They must need financial advisors. Explore the entire industry to see what's available.
