Hope someone can give me a bit of help.
67 down: Quieter than usual
pattern:
S - - - U - R
(if 85 across is BUCKLING then 67 down would be....S - B - U - R)
Thanks
all right, I'm a Yank, and we don't have the puzzle, so we have to guess from the clues you give us, but I don't like that U there, because the answer probably ends in ER, and ----UER is not a usual English combination. Something like SUBTLER might work if some other word provides a different cross word without that U.
@MontereyJack,
Hi MontereyJack,
Thanks for your answer.
The 'U' comes from: latest reports: UPDATES (first letter)
Ann
Hmm, hard to get around that. Try Subdued, what about the R--any alternatives?
@MontereyJack,
Hi MontereyJack.
You're right!! That word begins with 'd' not 'r' as I had put. so it must be subdued.
Thank you
Ann
