Hiya basically my partner works away and I have gone to Leeds to see my family my home is in London and is a new build flat I'm 95% sure that I turned it off but I'm heavily pregnant but paranoia is getting the better of me and I'm so worried that I accidentally left the electric stove on.
It's a standard black electric stove and it would have been left on number 4 and is next to nothing flammable and has nothing on it. It would have been left on at 9.30am yesterday morning and I won't be back till 10.30pm tomorrow night. Im sure I turned it off but I can't help worrying because I seem to have baby brain at the moment. So basically do you think it will be ok? Many thanks in advance for your help really appreciated

The way you have described the situation, I think it's okay. But it's always a good idea to give a key to a neighbour you trust.

@Charmaineevens,
Personally if it were me in this situation, I'd call a neighbor or someone who has access to your place and make sure it's shut off. It's not worth the risk if you guess wrong.

@Charmaineevens,

Does this mean it is a multi-unit building with adjoining neighbors?

If so, call the super and have them check your stove. If you left it on, you could be endangering your neighbors too.

@Charmaineevens,
Yup. You're screwed. Kiss your flat goodbye.
