I imagine you interested souls and I inside a wind tunnel, we stand shoulder to shoulder , feet close together, arms tightly linked, the fan turns ever faster and soon we can feel it pushing us over,what is it we do quite naturally, we spread out,we touch hand to hand,arms outstretched,we spread our feet apart,we understand that our bodies are external to the wind ,the more space we can create between one body and another means we can stand there longer .Imagine your hands and feet as electrons and your bodies as protons and neutrons external to the energy.You are quite correct ,the motion of electrons is nothing whatsoever to do with the vacuum energy , more the atom and its dynamic ceaseless motion is a product of the environment it finds itself in.Mass external to the energy having a mechanism by which to exist within that energy

@worbort,
Imagine we're all in a wind tunnel together and we're all really stoned...

Then imagine we have a vague concept of "energy" which we treat as magic, and we hear about something called vacuum energy which sounds cool and kinda scientific when we use it in a sentence. Then imagine we have access to this thing on the internet called a forum...
