Gee, I need an Leonard Cohen cd. I used to have an album, wore that out, go another one, wore that out...
dyslexia, why sit on your property and read Penthouse? That ought to make him move away.
and can i tell him i have lust in my heart for his wife? or his daughter?
phoenix-perfectly wonderful suggestion, should i wink when i say it?
dyslexia- I would sort of lower my eyes, and look shyly away!
If he sees you have the garden-variety hetero-lust he'll still condemn you to hell, and possibly move away. If he thinks you have a hankering for his loins, who knows what he may do.
ossobuco, Have you heard Leonard's lasted album? I think it is great!
billw, is that the "10 new songs" album"? my favorite is the "live" album that was recorded in Paris and London.
Yes, it is very moving - of course, all Leonard Cohen is moving!
Gezzy,
You handled the situation correctly by removing yourself Sounds like the gent has a couple of screws loose - and as the old saying goes "Don't chase trouble". I'd suggest making some discrete inquiries about him and keep your distance.

What Is Wrong With National Geographic
I guess, the interfering neighbor is at least mentally retarded. What is wrong with reading of the "National Geographic" that makes him to attribute such a reading to a service to devil? It is not a child pornography magazine, it does not advocate homicide, promiscuity, illicit drugs usage, bestiality, etc. It does not publish articles against any religion in general, and Christianity in particular, either, it simply does not deal with religious conflicts.
Well, if the person is mentally sick, it is better to avoid any conversation with him and to attempt to meet him as infrequently as possible.
From the other side, being polite to morons is justified: there is no need to descend to their barbaric level.
steissd: Interesting take. Being polite to morons IS justified.
Ah, well, I guess now: the neighbor was disgusted with the openly evolutionist concept of the article. Well, I believe that the world was created, but I regard evolution as one of the God's tools enabling Him to establish biologic diversity with minimum of directly applied efforts. Those of creationists that deny evolution, simply underestimate intellectual level of the Creator (that is infinite by definition), and this is a kind of latent blasphemy.
steissd- Creationist vs evolutionist theories aside, there is one overriding aspect to the entire issue. The man was behaving inappropriately, in a manner that might indicate a psychotic state of mind. The particular issue that he was railing against is of no importance.

I agree, I stated this from the very beginning. But since Mr/Mrs "Dyslexia" is a gentleman/lady, I believe that he/she should remain polite under any circumstances. This will show his/her superiority to the annoying moron.
steissd, National Geographics is also viewed by the Religious Right in this country as bad. It is representative of "Darwinism" at its most base level. I guess to them it is like reading pornography, or the Torah.
Torah? What is wrong with this? Any Christian may read it, this is a Pentateuch, it pertains to the Old Testament, and it is a part of the Christian Holy Scripture. Maybe, you meant Talmud? Or Koran?
