Do you know what time it is!?

Oh boy...Another sleepless night in an individual's household. My eyes are nearly shut because of the brightness of the screen.

Tell me if this happens to any of you out there, still up at 1:30...
I have millions of ideas running through my head at breakneck speeds and leaving sizzling rubber trails on my brain. They are the most spectacular images, wonderful scenarios, and insightful ideas...I HATE IT. Do you know why? Because these goddamn ideas are keeping me up when I should be getting some well-earned rest.

I usually welcome uninvited thoughts. Hell, I even let them interrupt my life. But it's the ones that occur when only vampires are awake that I hate.

Someone please give me a solution of how to get them out! Preferably one that doesn't involve ingesting any illegal or intoxicating substances.

Does this happen to you people out there in Jesus-what-time-is-it land? I can't stand it.

OCCOM, why are you up so late? Oh, he went to bed....
Terry, shouldn't you be in bed by now? What gives?

I already am taking tomorrow off.

But this isn't just a one-time deal; it happens almost every night. And it's not quite insomnia. I find that when I actually think (some people actually think these days) before I go to bed, I have a lot more to get through before I can go to sleep. But it's an incredible effort for me not to think. I have to focus my brain power on what to wear tomorrow and all sorts of superficial crap.

Have you tried reading when you go to bed, Individual? If you're tired it's almost certain you'll fall asleep after a bit.

When I was desperate to relax & sleep (during a very stressful time) I resorted to relaxation tapes.

Is something in particular worrying you?

Nope, I have a pretty stress-resistant personality. Relaxation tapes always crack me up, though. I get thoughts like, "Does anyone actually expect me to relax when they talk in that funny voice?" Besides, I can't go to sleep if someone is talking to me.

Reading...I do that all day though. By night, my eyes are too tired to keep open in order to read, but when I close them I have all sorts of thoughts and can't sleep.

It's a lose-lose situation. Crying or Very sad
I guess there's only one solution... Drunk

What's your reason for being up?

I was thinking of heavy doses of nyquil. It's worked before...

It's to make you feel nice and cozy when you're sick so that you can go to sleep. It also makes you fairly drunk and my hope is that I can get myself cozy, and then use the drunkenness to forget about everything. Bliss will be just around the corner...<pop>...Dammit, gotta stop with these sleep deprived dreams.

So...olga. Any specific reason for being up this late? Sleep defying baby? Stress? Bad date that you haven't gotten over yet?

I'm in Oz & it'a a little after 9 pm. It's a very pleasant summer evening in beautiful downtown Melbourne.

But I do know a bit about the experience of insomnia & trying to function while in a zombie state the next day. Very wearing if it goes on for too long.

Are you staring to feel drowsy? Very Happy

Worst of all, I have a lab sleeping in my bed. Every time I lay down I get hot air snored into my ear.

Sleeping with bitches...A man could get into a lot of trouble for saying that...

She's not the problem. In fact, she keeps me nice and warm.
