Today I was shown several ditloids, most were pretty easy but there were 3 I couldn't get. A ditloid for anyone who doesn't know, is an abbreviation of (usually) a saying. For example: 13IABD = 13 in a baker's dozen, or 5FOAH = 5 fingers on a hand. The first three of the following I couldn't get, and the rest are just for fun-
1. 2x2TAWOTA
2. 57HV
3. 6WOHTE
4. 12SOTZ
5. SWAT7D
6. 3BM
7. 100YIAC
@Edsterr,
2x2TAWOTA
2 by 2 the animals walked onto the ark...
@DrewDad,
6WOHTE = 6 wives of Henry the Eighth
Thanks guys, would never have been able to get any of them. Anyone want to try the other four, they're a lot easier than the first few.
@Edsterr,
5. I can never remember the names of all seven....
6. ... see how they run.
@Edsterr,
#7 = 100 years is a century
@DrewDad,
to be fair, I probably have the ark on the brain after listening to gunga explain that the big flood trumps carbon dating.
silly science amuses me...
@Region Philbis,
Ali Baba and the 40 thieves
Looks like all of mine are done, so here's some more:
1. AF1A1FA
2. 2HABT1
3. 7PITSS
4. 1000MIAK
5. 64SOAC
6. 88KOAP
7. 1000YIAM
8. 6AHAD
9. 5TOAF
1. AF1A1FA - The three Musketeers motto.
@Edsterr,
4. We in the U.S. do not approve of the metric system.
7. Are you prepared for Y10K?
@Edsterr,
1 -- all for one and one for all
2 -- two heads are better than one
7 -- 1,000 years is a millenium

how 'bout 3CITF?
@Edsterr,
I was thinking of that old song 'Three Coins in the Fountain."
@Edsterr,
Heck. I misread 5 and thought I had it as 6 sides on a cube....
I've seen 3. written as 9PITSS, and 8PITSS for a while (poor Pluto), but why is it 7PITSS?
@Lustig Andrei,
That makes more sense. Not sure what I was thinking of though.
