Just found this series of pop stars' high school photographs photographs in the Guardian.
It was easy for me to figure out who each one was because their names were included.

But without peeking, can you guess who these 3 are?

When you've finished looking at all of them (link below) were there any that you couldn't pick, which you recognized immediately, any photographs which made you laugh, or any that made you sigh (like the first one I've posted. He looked so happy then!)

Anyway, have fun looking!

Rock stars at school - in pictures

As a new photograph of future Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at primary school emerges, can you work out who these future megastars are from their high-school yearbook pictures? And just why are the images so compelling?

@msolga,
Too bad this photograph couldn't have been a bit bigger!

Feel free to add any old photographs of now famous people you might have tucked away in your archives somewhere.

Even any of you, when you were younger & really, really cool! Smile

I saw this a while back, and was glad to find it on youtube. This is Mick Jagger.

@izzythepush,
Thanks, Izzy.
And a fine looking lad young Michael was, too!
Very neat & clean & well mannered.
Obviously brought up in a good home! Smile

Did you take a look at the year book photographs?
Any that you found particularly interesting?
The fresh-faced, optimistic young Kurt Cobain made me very sad.

@msolga,
I just had a look, I agree about Cobain. Most of them, regardless of the age, look like they were taken some time in the mid 50's. I would never have guessed Jim Morrison.

@izzythepush,
But once you knew who he was you could see the striking resemblance right away!

I Googled "Elvis Presley year book photograph" ....
And found quite a few for sale .... signed or otherwise.

There is one of him with a group of friends on this site, but copying the photograph is prohibited .

(Oh & check out his report card! Just goes to show you, doesn't it?)

Interesting that someone's high school photographs could become such a valuable, exclusive thing!

Michael Stipe was positively angelic!

I remembered seeing this old film of Jim Morrison not too long ago...

one of my fave musicians, Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices, has an adult school picture

because he was a teacher during the first few years of the bands career

Yes, quite gorgeous, in a cherubic sort of way.
And he looked terrific with hair! Wink Smile

@dlowan,
Yeah, that grin!

Axl Rose looks startlingly double-takingly like E.G. at that age, even though I'd never noticed much of a resemblance as an adult.

Found a few more, though not all musicians, and some rather obscure.

George, before & after.
A definite improvement with age! Smile :
