Thank goodness for a very fast response team who probably helped you
tremendously in a stroke situation. Alle the best wishes for a fast recovery
and take it easy RJB - you're entitled to some days off :-))

Now I'm embarrassed. Thanks to every0ne for the kind thoughts.
This was the 1st time in 65 years I ever have experienced going to a hospital. My employee called 911 and the 1st responder was the firemen - a few blocks away who were there within 4 minutes. The rescue squad arrived a few minutes later.
As an aside, Charlottesville has an all volunteer rescue squad staff with people drawn largely from UVA. The savings allows the city and UVA to invest in the technology to stay ahead of the curve.
A short ride to the ER where the receiving doctor got a briefing. And then inside. The doctors - and the dozen or so med students watching from a discreet distance - seemed to be waiting for me.

That is very serious, RJB. Please be careful.

On the other hand, I hear that all the nurses over there resemble spendius. Smile

Is there a punch-line somewhere inside there, J?

Picking up from where I left off, I was in the ER for an hour and a half on Saturday morning but they couldn't find me a room "for a little while." I ended up being stored for 6 hours: my 6' body draped over a 5'7" gurney.
Between Saturday at 8 AM and mid-day Sunday, when I was discharged, I probably dealt with a couple dozen hospital staff. Since then, a score more of therapists and clinicians.
I was very impressed with the lot of them.

@realjohnboy,
I don't know what the hospitals and numbers of doctors and nursing staffs are going to do when Obama's full coverage of his health care law happens and the millions of people will want coverage and treatment that they couldn't get before. Will it take months to get appointments?

Let's start a contest. Why is being in the hospital just like playing baseball? (I haven't come up with a good one yet, unfortunately.)
