everything digital is, no matter what they say, an "averaged" output based upon a mathematical expansion and random samping. You will a,ways get a sound that is "almost" there but sounds very clean and vanilla (IMHO).
I like my Bose but dont let me remember my JBL aquarius speakers. They would bend nails and crash stemware.
You are corect about the glues and the suspensors in the old woofers. AND the fact that the crossovers were real analog and not digital.

Anyway, much of the music style has transcended the quartet and quintet type sound and produces ear splitting sound without over emphasizing any one sound frequency
