Toward the end of the following thread in post #646 I explain the need for a “Stop watching this thread” facility

http://able2know.org/topic/185959-6

I have explained this difficulty in earlier threads and postings but respondents report not understanding the problem. So Admin if you’re listening, I’m sure you will comprehend if not fully agree, and again no criticism at all, I only mean as a suggestion, I’m not such a scary humanoid when all is said and done, to boot I really have innocent intentions, my suggestions honestly are intended only to improve the world, I realize that others are not bothered by its absence, I concede how difficult to revise software and will understand if you’re reluctant, I apologize if I’m unnecessarily consuming your valuable time

But--and only incidentally you must know—no offense intended-- God Lord Mercy how I wish I could scroll at the onset of a Question, Discussion, or Edit window

Edited to add OOPS, there it is! the scroll bar at last! Thank you! It’s as if you’re listening

...but why can’t it come earlier

I'd like to be able to go back and correct the title of this thread.

@dalehileman,
So what exactly are you asking for?!

I'd say "I don't believe a2k has anything similar to what you are asking for" but you're doing such a ghastly job in telling us exactly what you want.

Once you release the kraken (your thread or any thread) there isn't a way to barricade other people from seeing/reading it. If that's what you are asking. You can always thumb down your own thread if you don't want to see it in your My Post or My Topics section. Or JUST IGNORE IT would do the same trick. You aren't legally obliged to return to your thread and answer to anyone who bothers to participate in the thread now or in the future.

It's a tad too late for that correction. Even a correct title wouldn't really help the content of the poster's thread. Razz

Forgive me Tsar, I gather you didn’t access the link. But briefly, to establish a “Stop watching….” link to clear one’s subscribed threads

But I do mean well, really

Thank you Tsar, it’s not every day I gather a new term. Is it slang

Oh no no in no way at all, I welcome all, even those who seem terribly angry at all times about nearly everything

No, yes, Tsar, sorry if my post wasn’t clear, I get that a lot

No, “My Posts” is very valuable as a list of subscribed threads and I cherish it. But it gets too lengthy and often I can’t determine which listing I no longer wish to follow while I fear there might be one or two on a subsequent page which I’ve been neglecting

Again I apologize most emphatically for not being crystal clear. By adding the post to the thread I am flagging it in my subscribed threads listing for instant identification

Hope I haven’t confused you any further but if so my apologies and regrets as you seem to be on the ball but intend only to be helpful

Yes I often elicit such a reaction from those few terribly angry at all times about nearly everything

Krakens are sea monsters from European mythology predating the 17th century. Most notably the monster in Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

You might try changing the preference on read/unread topics from No to Yes on the "Put unread topics above read topics" option. Not exactly sure if that would suit your needs.

Thank you Tsar most kindly, you seem well-read

Thank you again most kindly Tsar but the problem doesn’t hinge on whether I’ve read it, merely whether I wish to follow it
